Heyo!

Image
Hey everyone!      first off if you sent me an email last monday I didn't get it because my email wasn't working. Just to let y'all know!      It was a great week! Let me tell you all- the work is progressing here in cheboygan, MI. It's the coolest thing. This week not a ton happened... but also a lot happened at the same time.      We had a lesson with scott and julie this week and taught the Gospel of jesus Christ! they loved it, until they realized that the baptisms they have had were not done under the proper authority. So, we're taking all the advice we can get on how to lovingly teach about the need to be baptized under the proper priesthood authority! We want them to know we respect and love them while also teaching truth. If you got advice, send it my way!      We met with Alex this week! She told us she is ready to make promises with God. Here's a cool story- She was on her way to church on sunday when her car wouldn't...

'Twas A Week

Okay!   This week was one of those weeks where a lot of people cancelled lessons, BUT. It was still a good week!  The elders in the Sault St. Marie had a baptism this week! they did it in our building and so we got to help out and then watch it on zoom. It was great! It's always a special experience watching someone choose to follow God!  We had an amazing lesson with Alex this week! She told us that she loves reading the book of Mormon. She said she feels like a weight is lifted off her shoulders every time she reads it. She said that she loves that she's building her desire to grow her faith and that it's not being influenced by other people, and that she keeps wanting to come back and be taught more! It was really cool to hear her describe the spirit. It's a new feeling for her, and she said she wants to feel it as often as possible! Hearing her talk about feeling the spirit really strengthened my testimony that this church is true. It is the only Church that...

WHAT A WEEK

Image
This week was sooo good!      Tuesday we had exchanges! (For those who don't know exchanges are when you have a new companion for the day and you set goals and get to know each other). It was a ton of fun. The sisters in our zone are so cool and I'm lucky to be serving with them! They have very unique stories and it's really cool to hear why they decided to serve missions. We are all so grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and want others to experience the joy that we've experienced!     GUYS! We got to go across the mackinaw bridge on Wednesday!!! Seriously the coolest experience ever. It was beautiful. Our district council was in the Sault st. Marie which is the top of the upper peninsula and right next to the Canadian border. It was so so so cool to be that far north. It's beautiful. I loved it!! Heavenly Father definitely knew what He was doing when he called me to serve in Michigan.     As great as the Mackinaw Bridge was,,,,,,,SUSAN WAS BAPTIZ...

ONE MONTH

Image
Guys.  I have been in the field for ONE MONTH tomorrow!! Soooo crazy! It has gone by so so fast. It's been a great month! I've loved being a missionary.   Satan is crafty. He does everything he can to keep the people we're teaching from feeling the spirit and God's love. Its the worst and makes us so sad when people have an amazing lesson and feel so happy, but then reject the Gospel.  Satan does it to all of us! He does everything he can to keep us from feeling the spirit and he often does it through discouragement. Maybe sometimes we will feel like we're not good enough. Or we get in a cycle and start comparing ourselves to others. Or he causes us to forget to be grateful. (Rude, right?!)  Something I've learned is that when feelings of discouragement come, its important to recognize the source of those feelings. Recognize that God doesn't want us to be discouraged. He wants us to feel godly sorrow and repent, yes, but to not stay stuck in those feelings. ...
