Hey everyone,  I just want to give you all an update. Last night I was released from my service as a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  I have absolutely loved my time as a missionary. I'm devastated that it has to end early because of surgery, but I am hoping I'll still be able to go out to Michigan once my cholesteatoma is taken out.  I know that God is involved in the details of our lives. Something I've learned is that faith includes trusting in God's timing, and trusting in Him even when His will is not our own. I've wanted to serve a mission for as long as I can remember, so it's hard for me for it to be put on hold. But, I know there is a higher plan and I'm willing to accept that. I know God is there for each one of us. He has not abandoned us or left us alone. The trials we go through have a purpose, and help us become better people and more like Him.  Elder Holland said, "I bear witness of God's love...

Trusting God

Hey all! Hope you had a great week. Light the World started! It's been so cool to see all the posts on Facebook and the focus on the Savior. I love it.  This week was interesting.  I said goodbye to my MTC district! Most of them flew out on monday. There were four of us left on Tuesday, which was my last day. I loved the MTC! It wasn't easy to sit on a computer for up to 10 hours a day, but I learned so much and met some great people.  Wednesday was the day that I was supposed to fly out to Michigan. The Mission Department delayed my departure until we figure out what's wrong with my ear and see if I'm going to need surgery. So since Tuesday, I've been at home, still a missionary, but just waiting to figure this all out. Well, we finally got some more answers on Friday.  Mom called Mayo clinic on Wednesday, and they got us in for Friday! The fact that we got in that quickly was a miracle.
