I Just Love Being A Missionary

Image
Hey Everyone!!  I just thought you'd like to know that I love being a missionary. Focusing on the Gospel 24/7 and helping people feel the spirit makes me happy. I like seeing people come closer to God. Because honestly that's the thing that makes us happy in the long run- being close with Him and keeping His commandments.  A few things I've learned this week: - Everyone on this earth already chose Jesus Christ. When we introduce them to the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, it's just reminding them of something that they already know. That perspective helps me have more confidence in Christ and charity for others.  - The Book of Mormon is the way to go if you want to become converted to Christ. It's all about Him. Everyone has access to the power of the Holy Ghost. So if we read the Book of Mormon with real intent and pray to know if it's true, we'll know. I have become more converted to Christ as I read it. I feel so much peace. I know it's the word of G...

Spoiler Alert: Ya Don't Have To Be Perfect

Howdy!      'Twas a good week!      I love the people in Cheboygan. They are the kindest and most genuine people I have ever met. I'm grateful to be serving here with them.      Church yesterday was amazing! We have a friend named Orville who is in a wheelchair. His van was broken and so he didn't have a way to get to church. So we went over there on Sunday morning and walked to church with him! It was a blast. It was inspiring that he would be willing to wheel the mile or so to church so that he could take the sacrament and feel the spirit.      Andrew is doing so well. We taught him the word of wisdom on Tuesday and the importance of keeping ourselves clean so that we can always be in a place to receive direction from God. We asked if he'd be willing to live the word of wisdom by this weekend and he said "I'm here to live it NOW!" Then he proceeded to go out to his car, take the addiction that he's had since he was 3 years ol...

Singing In The Rain

HEYOOOOO fam  It's been an amazing week!  We've been super busy teaching this week. We had a lesson on Wednesday with Andrew.... he accepted a baptismal invitation! We're so excited for him. He said "I just want to feel the joy that you two feel"  he's been baptized before so we were worried that he'd hesitate, but had no hesitation. He said "well that's why I'm here, right?" He wants to make promises with God and be as close to Him as possible. It's inspiring. Seeing someone exercise so much faith is the coolest thing to witness.  Keep Andrew in your prayers!  Right after the lesson we were so excited about what just happened that I forgot to bring the keys out to the church parking lot with me.... and we locked ourselves out of the church building.... again. Yes, another blonde Sistet Ross moment. but. It led to the best memories hahah we were just running around in the rain so so happy because of Andrew's decision to be baptize...

Shakin' My Faith? Psh As If That Was Possible

Hi!!! okay this week was probably one of my favorite weeks of my mission this far. It was amazing. we had about 22 lessons and almost all of them were in person! We have seen so many miracles since things have opened up. We've had back to back lessons all day and we're so exhausted by the end of the night but it feels sooo good. I love being this busy.  I've been thinking a lot this week about the power of the Book of Mormon in conversion. We have a friend named Andrew who's already read all of the Book of Mormon. He read it in the 2 weeks we've been meeting with him. His testimony is so pure and he's been so receptive to learning more about the truths of the Gospel. All because he read the Book of Mormon with an open heart.  Then, we have a friend named Chuck that we met doorknocking last week. Chuck is a pastor in another church and the first time we met with him he totally bashed us. He had looked up a bunch of anti church stuff and came at us with a ton of q...
