Turn The Car Around

MERRY CHRISTMAS:)  This week was so special!!  Tuesday was our zone conference. It was so fun to be with the missionaries in our zone. I love them all. We had the opportunity to go to all the zone conferences in the mission and ours was definitely the best;)  On Wednesday we went to the Lansing/Spanish zone conference to be a part of the choir. It was fun and I got to see some old friends.  That night we had an awesome experience- we went to this address from our records and a man named Andre answered. We asked if he'd be interested in hearing a Christmas message and he said that they were busy. We asked if we could come back again another time and he again said that they were too busy. So we left. On the way home we felt uneasy. We felt a really special spirit about Andre and knew that God needed us to go back at some point. We got home but stayed In our car. We prayed to know if we were supposed to go back that night. After we prayed, Sister Schmidt said "I'm turni...

IT'S CHRISTMAS!!

Heyyooo!!!  Ah guys I love my mission. I am sooo happy to be here during this Christmas season!! Spending time with other missionaries, testifying of Christ, lighting the world, ahh all of it. I just feel so blessed!!  Grace and Prince were baptized this weekend!! I am so proud of them. They have the purest desire to follow Christ. It was the coolest thing- when Prince was receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost he was blessed that he would bring the truth to many. That he'd teach many about Jesus Christ. That made me so happy. Helped me remember that this work is eternal. The miracles that we see are led by God- and they have eternal consequences. I love it. It's the greatest work ever!  Grace doesn't speak good English (she's from the Congo and spent years in refugee camps. She's so strong)  so we had an amazing member who speaks French confirm her. The spirit was so strong. Her family was there and they were so supportive of her. I love her and Prince so much! God...

Keep It Simple

Hey friends:))  Hope y'all are doing well :) We had a pretty spectacular week!  First off... we had an Instagram live with Sister Craig!! Let me tell you- that woman is amazing. I've learned so much from her!  Here's how it happened:  We do Instagram lives every week and one of this weeks prompt for light the world was "recipe for rejoicing". We wanted to get someone on who could share a family Christmas recipe. We had mind blanks- no one was coming to mind for us. When we were watching the first Presidency Christmas devotional, we were talking about how much we love and look up to sister Craig. She's always sharing cute recipes on her Instagram account. And the thought came to me "we could have Sister Craig on the live!" Crazy, right?! But I went ahead and told sis Schmidt and she was down. So this is what happened. We DM'ed her on Instagram! Didn't think she'd respond at all. BUT THEN SHE DID. the night before the live! So our mission p...

IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME

Hey all!  This week was powerful!! I learned soo much!  Some highlights:  MCKENZIE WAS BAPTIZED ON FRIDAY! It was sooo special. One of those moments that I wish I could live in forever. The spirit was so strong. We found out literally TWO DAYS before her baptism that she was actually supposed to be baptized in the Grand valley ward. We thought she was meant to be in the grand rapids ward. So we called everyone we could and she had people from BOTH wards show up at her baptism! The faith and dedication of the members here inspires me. She felt overwhelmed at first with all the new people and new experience of being baptized (understandable). But then after she came up out of that water, she was beaming! We asked how she felt and she said "I feel calm. Not overwhelmed anymore". It's the coolest thing that the Spirit does that:) following God brings peace! She is the coolest example to me because she is so pure in her desire. She knows that being baptized doesn't mean sh...
