The Lord Answers Prayers

Wow everyone. I can't even tell you how grateful i am to know that God speaks through a living prophet today. This general conference was one of the most powerful of my life. I felt like God directly answered every one of my questions. And I know that wouldn't happen if President Russell M. Nelson and the leaders of the church weren't called of God. I know with all my heart that God speaks through them and that their words are His. I have been so blessed in my life as I've striven to follow their teachings. I loved telling everyone we met about the fact that there's a living prophet. It was so exciting and my testimony of him grew even more!

Sis mamata and I got to watch conference by ourselves In our apartment with all our snacks and let me tell you it was the greatest thing!! Both of us received so much revelation that I don't think we would've been able to receive if we had watched with other missionaries or friends.

They talked so so much about missionary work! I loved it. The prophet emphasized young men serving and encouraged young women to serve if they feel that's what God wants. Then President Ballard said - "to those currently serving, Thank you. The Lord is pleased with your efforts". Sis mamata and i were just crying haha. I felt so much love from God. That was a huge answer to prayer.

Something else I loved was Elder Uchtdorf's talk. He talked a lot about life and how it's hard to find balance. We think of things as categories - work, church, family, school, calling, testimony, fun, friends, etc. Then he encouraged us to stop thinking about it in categories and to think of it as one great work. The Savior's work. One joy. That really really helped me. Even as a missionary I struggle with feeling overwhelmed with everything I need to do and everyone we need to talk with. It's easy to let Satan's voice of discouragement and inadequacy in. But, elder Uchtdorf's talk (and so many others) helped me realize that the Lord wants us to have joy. "There are a 100 different ways to care and love God's children under the 1st Great Commandment" (something like that).
That brought me so much comfort. God created us to have joy!! (2 Nephi 2:25). We can have joy as we follow the spirit to know who needs our help.
I also loved that almost every hymn that was sung had the word "rejoice" In it.
If the prophet of the world, who sees and knows much more than we do, is happy and confident in the future, then I think we can be, too.

I love this Gospel with my whole heart. I love being a missionary with everything in me and am excited to see what spiritual momentum builds these next couple of transfers.
I know that God answers prayers and knows us personally.

I invite you to come to know Him and how He answers you. I promise it will change you forever!

I love you all!!
