I Need Thee Every Hour ♡
Hola amigos!
What a great week! We had two amazing exchanges this week. I was with Sister Kitzman and Sister Vassar. Those two sisters are so incredible. I love them sooo much and just want to be everything Heavenly Father needs me to be for them. I want to support them in their missionary service in any way that I can!
I learned a lot from those two exchanges. I felt really inadequate going into them. Wasn't sure if I'd be able to be what they needed. I really relied on the Lord. A lot haha. And He definetly helped me! My testimony grew so much this week about how much we need Him. Those sisters are incredible and I learned so much from them. We had some amazing conversations and they helped me so much, too. I'm grateful I have the opportunity to be with them and get to know them!
This past Sunday was the last Sunday with the entire Wyoming ward, before it becomes Wyoming 1 and 2 wards. Everyone is pretty sad about it! I am too. It'll be hard to say goodbye to the members we won't be with anymore.
Sister Thurber, the choir director and our dear friend, found an amazing arrangement of "I need thee every hour". It was beautiful. The choir sang and I got to play my violin. It was a really special experience. I cherish every moment I get to play the violin. I feel like the opportunity to play with the choir in church was a reminder of God's love for me. I'm grateful that my mission has allowed me to share my testimony of the Savior through words and through music.
There's a sweet little girl in the ward who plays violin as well. She came up to me a few weeks ago and asked for some advice on how she can prepare for a concert coming up. I told her to practice slow and in rythyms!! (Shout out to my violin teacher, Cathy Worcester) After sacrament meeting this past Sunday, she came up to me and said "I practiced slow! And it worked! My concert went great!" It was the sweetest moment ever. It reminded me of those years I got to teach violin to the sweetest kids ever. I miss those days! Also we went to visit this little girl and her family after church and I got to play a couple hymns with her. It brought me so much joy! I love when young kids love the violin. It was such a tender moment!
I am really grateful for my Savior. I have relied on Him a lot this week and He has truly blessed me. I know that He knows us. He's completely aware of us. I've seen so many more miracles when I completely give my all to Him. Isn't it so cool that He blesses us like that?
A scripture that really stood out to me this week was Jacob 4:7
"Nevertheless, the Lord God showeth us our weakness that we may know that it is by his grace, and his great condescensions unto the children of men, that we have power to do these things."
This work can only be done by Him. I know He leads and guides it. The Gospel is true. Sending a bunch of 18-21 year- olds away from home to share this message would not work unless it's true. We're so imperfect. But He blesses us and uses us in our perfection to bless others and bring joy to their life. It is truly remarkable. I love my Savior and don't know where I'd be without Him.
For those who don't know Him, I want you to know that there is more for you. Pray. Ask God if He's there. If Christ is your Savior. And I promise you'll receive an answer that will change your life.
I love you all!!
