W Y O M I N G - Wow
Okay people!!
This week has been so miracle filled. I love the people of Wyoming already! They are special.
Tuesday I officially said goodbye to sis Sampson and the North. Transfer day was my 9 months in the field!! And it was kinda cool bc I finished reading the book of Mormon with the focus on Charity (I was wayyy behind schedule) in the car as I was leaving the North. So lots of milestones that day.
It was so sad saying bye to sis Sampson! She is such a blessing. I'm so grateful to have her in my life. She taught me so much! She's going to continue doing incredible things in TC.
I got to see sis hansen!! It was such a special moment to see her love for the people In Wyoming and then to spend some time with her and sis Schmidt. It was so fun to have all of us together in that moment! They are some special people and i feel so blessed that I've gotten to serve with them.
Sis Schmidt is amazing! She's literally the kindest soul and I can't wait for this upcoming transfer with her.
I've learned so much this week! We literally have no breaks and it's the best thing ever. I love how busy we are.
3 of our friends are preparing for baptism right now! One of them is grace. She's from the Congo and so there's a bit of a language barrier when we teach her. She's the sweetest though. She has a 9 year old son named Prince! We had a lesson with them after church on Sunday and we asked prince if he wanted to participate in the lesson. He was on his phone but the minute we asked him to listen, he set it down and didn't touch it again. Talk about a committed 9 year old! We asked him if he wants to be baptized the same day as his mom and he said yes! He was so happy it was adorable. Then he gave the sweetest little prayer. I can't wait for them both! The Lord will work miracles with them.
then there's tracy! She's a character haha. She said this week that she's not sure if this is the true church and she feels like she hasn't gotten her answer from God yet. She could use some prayers! She's working towards being baptized on Nov. 27th.
THEN. there's Mandy. She's one of those people that I feel like I've known my whole life. She's incredible! Her husband is a member and her little boy was just baptized. She helped him get baptized. She's the most amazing mother. She just feels like she has a constant battle in her head of whether it's true or not. I know she'll find her answer. She'll feel it. And when she does it'll be the deepest thing ever. I can't wait for that day.
On Sunday, we fasted as a mission to be possessed by charity, the pure love of Christ. It was really special! Sister Schmidt and I had a lesson with our friend Katherine (who sis hansen found again last week when she followed a prompting- truly amazing). We went in praying we'd have charity and love for her. It was a super powerful experience. Katherine shared that she feels lost. We talked about finding healing through Jesus Christ and taking small steps of faith. We asked what her takeaway from our discussion was and she said something along the line of: "I need to be still with my God and ask Him how He views me. And then take that one step." It was so cool. Don't we all need to do that?
Take time to hear Him and then really feel His love for us. That can give us the courage to move forward in the next little step He asks us to take. There are amazing blessings in store when we're willing to make those steps.
As a missionary it's so cool to feel the love God has for other people. I've barely met these people but I've already been brought to tears feeling how much love God has for them. I'm grateful for that.
We have a zone conference this week and Sister Schmidt and I are giving a training with the zone leaders. It's all focused on the Doctrine of Christ and the two great commandments. President Heap challenged the mission to study 4 Nephi in preparation for zone conference. It's been a really cool experience! I've learned that in order to be prosperous or to receive the blessings we desire, we should include Him in everything we do. The people in that chapter gave the Lord credit for everything. A few phrases I loved:
"There was no contention...because of the Love of God which did dwell in [their] hearts"
" there were mighty miracles wrought among the disciples of Jesus"
"The Lord did prosper them...in the land"
"There could not be a happier people among all the people who had been created by the hand of God"
I know God wants this for all of us. Let's focus more on the Savior and really feel His love for us and for those around us.
Love you all!
If I can do anything for you, let me know: )
