Hola hola hola!
Sorry I didn't get an email out last week! We were walking the mackinaw bridge. then we played football and basketball with the district for the rest of the day. It was a great time!! I'll attach some pics
This week was great! We found a few new friends to teach. One of them came to church on sunday! His name is Dave! He is sooo prepared to hear the Gospel. He's researched tons of churches over the years and said that he's never learned this much or felt this good at a church. I can't wait to keep teaching him! I love it when people are humble and prepared to hear the Gospel. It's amazing to see the light and joy it brings to their lives.
I have a firm testimony that God is aware of us!! We had a lot of tender mercies this week. We had to go to detroit so I could get my ear checked out. I have to get a CT scan to see if there's fluid behind my ear drum. If there is, he'll put a tube in my ear and that should fix it. If it's not fluid, I'll probably have to get what's called a "second look surgery" to see if there's a recurrence of the Cholesteatoma. So. I could use some prayers!
anyways, as i was saying. on the way to detroit the traffic going back up north was terrible. and we were lamenting that we'd hit that traffic on the way home. BUT then. when we were going back home, the traffic into detroit was bumper to bumper and we had none!
then on the way home we were listening to a song called " I am a child of God" by the bonner family. It was raining for the drive back but for that song the sun came out and there was a rainbow! I felt like God was saying "I am here". I know if he can give me little tender mercies like that, He will take care of everything going on with my ear.
This scripture really stood out to me this week:
" Now ye may suppose that this is afoolishness in me; but behold I say unto you, that by bsmall and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise.
And the Lord God doth work by ameans to bring about his great and eternal purposes; and by very bsmall means the Lord doth cconfound the wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls." (Alma 37:6-7)
I've noticed that as a missionary it's easy to compare myself with others or worry if the efforts I putin are enough. i've learned that they are. I know that God consecrates the efforts we put in! no effort goes wasted. He does that for everyone, not just missionaries. If you feel inadequate, don't stress. God is asking you to do that thing for a reason. He knows what we're capable of. I know that every little effort we give Him and others; whether it's a smile, a text, reading scriptures for a couple minutes a day, calling a loved one, or just showing someone love, every effort is counted and goes for good.
so.
don't give up!! you got this and most importantly God's got this. :))
love you all!
