Am I A Nun? Hmmm...
Hey y'all!
Yet again another amazing week.
This week was sprint week! Sprint week is when we have goals to extend a certain amount of spirit-led invitations to people throughout the week. This week was sooo awesome. As a mission we invited over 11,000 people to read the book of Mormon, come to church, or learn with us. Sprint week isn't just about the numbers. For me it's the fact that the goals we had led me to extend more invitations and to have more courage as I follow the Spirit. The Lord truly does magnify our efforts!! We've seen miracles because of sprint week!
Both Sister Hansen and I felt like this week we were going to invite one of our friends to be baptized. We didn't know exactly which one yet (bc they're all so prepared) but we just felt like we needed to prepare to do that. Then we thought about our friend Stacy, and we were like "ok if we're able to have a lesson with Stacy this week and teach her the restoration, we feel like she'll be ready to be invited to be baptized". AND LITERALLY THE SAME DAY, sis Hansen has a prompting that we need to message Stacy. So we messaged her, and she said she could meet THAT day! So we taught her about the restoration of the Gospel and invited her to be baptized. She said she would pray about it. It was such a miracle that everything worked out the way it did, and Stacy is sooo prepared! We love her!! The Lord blesses us when we do our best to follow the Spirit and work hard.
Another sprint week miracle... Jimmy and Ashley (don't think I've told you guys about them) are planning on getting married! We are soooo excited for them. We can't wait to teach them more and help them progress on this path!
I absolutely love being a missionary. It is so cool to watch people develop a desire to come closer to God. developing a relationship with God is the most important thing we can do!
OKayy another cool thing- this transfer I decided I wanted to study discipleship. We've been super busy and so i haven't had a ton of time to study discipleship specifically, but as i've looked back on the past couple weeks, a lot of our mission devotionals have been about giving it our all. and the fact that this week was sprint week, what better way to study discipleship than to give it my all and work as hard as i can. it's been really cool to see how even though i haven't had a ton of time to *study* discipleship, I've been learning a lot about it as our mission has focused on giving it our all and working as hard as we can for the Lord. The Lord provides! Everything we learn in our mission devotionals and that i study about in my personal study and that we teach our friends connects. It's really cool to feel the spirit in that way and to be so close to Heavenly Father.
I love this quote: "Whatever you must leave behind to follow the path to your Heavenly home will one day seem like no sacrifice at all" - Elder Teixieira
Heavenly Father has SO MUCH in store for us!! He has so many blessings He wants to give to us. We just need to be willing to sacrifice our big and little things that are keeping us from becoming true disciples of the Savior.
I LOVE being a missionary!!! I love this Gospel with my whole heart and am so blessed to have it in my life.
OH. and to describe the title of my email...literally 4 people this week thought sister hansen and I were nuns. sooo yeah that was funny.
Ain't a nun, just a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints :)
love you all!!
